COVID-19 Mask to Stay
Dear Catharine Families,
Students and staff exposed to COVID-19 and without symptoms are encouraged to take specific precautions:
- Wear a mask for 10 days after their last date of exposure.
- Self-monitor, or parent-monitor, for symptoms of COVID-19.
- Isolate and get tested if they start to experience symptoms associated with COVID-19
Positive students with the following conditions are eligible for mask accommodations, such as using a face shield or serial testing, in place of a mask upon return after five days of isolation at home. This list is not exhaustive. Additional requests will be considered on an individual basis.
- Tracheostomies
- Neuromuscular and other conditions that limit the ability to self-remove a mask
- Autism
- Hearing Impairment
- Chronological young age
- Developmental young age
- Cognitive impairment
Any positive student that is unable to mask and utilize mask accommodations, such as face shield or serial testing will have to isolate at home for 10 days.
