Arrival and Dismissal

Arrival

School begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 2:09 p.m. Students may arrive at 7:15 a.m. for breakfast in the cafeteria.

Breakfast  is served from 7:15-7:25 a.m. Students in grades K-5 NOT eating breakfast at school should report to the yard outside the cafeteria at 7:20am.

Students should not report to school earlier than 7:10 a.m. for breakfast or 7:20 a.m. to line up in the schoolyard, there is no supervision until that time.

The school assumes no liability or responsibility for children on school grounds until supervision begins.

• Inclement Weather Arrival

  In the case of inclement weather, Kindergarten students should be escorted to the Auditorium. Students in grades 1-2 should go directly to the Auditorium and sit in their assigned areas. Students  in grades 3 -5 should go directly to the gym.

• Late Arrival

  Any student who arrives after 7:35 am is considered late. If a student is late, he/she must report to the Front desk located outside the main office for a late slip. Late arrivals are recorded on a student’s attendance record. Lateness is disruptive to the instructional day and should be avoided.  Punctuality is expected

Dismissal

It is imperative that parents/caregivers pickup child(ren) on time during regular and early dismissal days. The faculty and administrators must attend meetings at the close of school. Students are dismissed from the schoolyard at 2:09 p.m. Please arrive promptly by 2:09 p.m. to pick up your child.

On inclement weather days, students in grade  K will dismiss from their classroom, grades 1-2  will be dismissed from the Auditorium, and grades 3 – 5 will be dismissed to the yard.

Students in kindergarten may not walk home alone. If an older student from the school, or another adult, is picking up a younger child, written permission must be given by the parent/guardian.

A student will not be released without written permission to any other adult other than those who have been designated.
